Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!
As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.
We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!
The Role:
We’re now looking for a proactive and hands-on Junior IT Support Engineer to join our growing IT team on a 6month Fixed Term contract, during an exciting phase of transformation and growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their IT journey who’s eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
As we expand our operations across two floors and focus on streamlining infrastructure, access management, and documentation, we\’re on the lookout for someone who can hit the ground running with a can-do attitude.
Your role will be to support more routine, recurring, and physical tasks that keep the wheels turning, to allow for your team to focus on the higher-level priorities like system architecture, licensing, and strategic infrastructure work.
You’ll be responsible for setting up equipment, connecting peripherals, arranging desk layouts, and keeping IT stock areas tidy and well-organised. You\’ll also support the upkeep of our server room, shadow our experienced engineers during their day-to-day support activities, and lend a hand wherever technical help is needed. This is a varied, hands-on role, where no two days look quite the same! Whether you\’re unpacking and configuring hardware or helping document new processes, you’ll play a valuable part in keeping things running smoothly.
This position is perfect if you’re keen to learn, ready to get stuck in, and looking for a role where you can grow your skills while making a real impact.
Due to the role being supervised you will be required to work in the studio 5 days per week.
About you:
This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their IT career. Whether you\’re a recent graduate, someone retraining into tech, or self-taught with a genuine interest in IT, this role could be for you! You don’t need years of experience, but you do need to be curious, practical, and ready to roll up your sleeves.
A basic familiarity with computers, peripherals, and common office hardware is beneficial. You should be comfortable with tasks like plugging in monitors, organising cables, and following instructions to set up a standard workstation. A methodical approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organised will go a long way.
In this hands-on role you will often be delegated tasks that involve moving equipment, setting up desks, and navigating between different areas of the office. As such, a reasonable level of mobility and physical ability is required to safely and effectively carry out daily responsibilities.
Most importantly, you\’ll be dependable and eager to learn, wanting to build your confidence through hands-on experience. If you\’re the kind of person who notices when a cable’s out of place or takes pride in getting a setup just right, you’ll fit right in here!
