Born from a desire to view quality holistically across the entire SDLC, our Quality Engineers (QEs) are at the heart of delivering world-class consultancy services.
Why Us? We are certified as a Great Place to Work and employ around 300 QEs. We recently announced an eight-figure funding injection as we aim to increase our revenue by more than ÂŁ50m in the coming years.
What we’re looking for… We’re looking for people who let curiosity lead them. We don’t expect to have a team of experts. What we do expect is for #Team2i to be…
- Inquisitive
- Open to challenge and be challenged
- Taking initiative
- Accountable
You have experience with various types of software and infrastructure and are passionate about helping to improve the quality of products you work on, through questions, curiosity and exploration. Our projects and clients are diverse, so what we really look for are people driven to develop and expand their skillset and knowledge.
What you’ll be doing…
- Influencing and driving quality engineering best practices within a newly formed Cloud Platform team as part of one of our client delivery projects.
- Working collaboratively as part of a small team of Lead Quality Engineers and Seniors to deliver a QE strategy, shifting quality engineering left through DevSecOps processes.
- Proactively contribute to team delivery ceremonies and practices, such as daily stand-ups, planning, refinement and reviews.
- Positively contribute to 2i strategic initiatives to accelerate internal growth and improve client delivery.
- Proactively collaborating with client stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating these into quality engineering strategies whilst leading team members to develop a shared understanding of what good looks like and advocate for quality from the outset.
- Have a detailed understanding of the role of test automation with a DevOps approach to shift quality engineering left through DevSecOps processes.
- Support driving the overall direction of quality engineers within a Cloud Platform team, implementing tooling and test code to support your tests.
- Collaborate with wider test engineering team to ensure processes, tooling and approaches are consistent, as well as engineering and architecture teams ensuring QE is embedded by default in engineering and architecture approaches.
- Build trust with client stakeholders and be able to clearly and concisely communicate test ideas, systems quality risks and translate evidence in a way that is meaningful and relatable to them.
- Mentor, coach and teach more junior team members, providing support to implement strategic approaches, perform test activities and develop their skills.
- Develop a culture within your client and internal teams to challenge the status quo and continuously improve quality engineering practices and processes, with appropriate tracking and monitoring of value driven success measures.
Technical Skillset Required:
- Commercial experience within an AWS-focused cloud platform environment.
- Sound working knowledge of core services such as: S3, CloudFront, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, CloudWatch and API Gateway and the ability to articulate their purpose and appropriate use cases.
- Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) from a quality engineering perspective including: validating both IaC plans and deployed infrastructure, where IaC testing fits within CI/CD and how to automate and ability to evaluate and select appropriate tools for testing IaC based on context, risk and team maturity.
- Hands on practical experience with Terraform including static analysis, policy validation, and runtime verification.
- Experience partnering with DevOps engineers to implement testing strategies across all layers of the modern test pyramid, aligned to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps principles.
- Excellent understanding of cloud quality engineering, including: defining and measuring “quality” within a cloud platform team (e.g. reliability, security, performance, cost-efficiency) and defining and enforcing appropriate quality gates and validations prior to production deployment.
- Hands-on experience with containers and containerisation best practices with a focus on testability, reliability and observability.
- Deep expertise in container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, including designing, deploying and validating distributed workloads.
What we can offer you…
