You have experience with various types of software and are passionate about helping to improve the quality of products you work on, through questions, curiosity and exploration. What you will be doing...
Working within one of our amazing client project teams, you will contribute to quality engineering activities, primarily non-functional testing. You will bring your breadth and depth of hands-on experience with a range of non-functional testing practices to deliver value to your daily work and support your colleagues on your client team. You will be expected to contribute to client delivery ceremonies and practices, such as daily stand-ups, planning, refinement and reviews.
You will proactively share your knowledge with and learn from your 2i colleagues to grow our collective skills and experience and continuously improve the 2i way of doing things. You will also positively contribute to 2i strategic initiatives to grow the business and improve client delivery.
Proactively collaborating with team members and client stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of what good looks like and advocate for quality from the outset.
Mentor, coach and teach more junior team members, providing support to implement strategic approaches, perform test activities and develop their skills.
Design and execute testing using a range of quality craft practices most appropriate to the test situation and context.
Have a detailed understanding of the role of test automation in software delivery and be confident implementing tooling and test code to support your tests.
Record and manage issues/defects found during testing, clearly and concisely with sufficient detail to support investigation and resolution.
Exceed client expectations by delivering exceptional services focused on what they feel matters most.
Have a clear understanding of the role of functional and non-functional testing in delivering quality software products, with proven experience in functional testing and breadth and depth of experience of non-functional testing, such as performance, resilience, scalability and observability.
Support the career development of more junior team members in line with the 2i QE Career Framework, business needs and their aspirations.
Engage in healthy debate and challenge facing into conflict and difficult conversations when needed.
Look out for your teammates and provide pastoral support to more junior members of the team.
Specific Technical Experience...
- Experience of performance testing methodologies, tools, especially JMeter, and best practices.
- Experience of testing in cloud-based environments, especially AWS and/or Azure.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, NeoLoad, LoadRunner, etc.
- Experience with various business and operational monitoring tools.
