What we’re looking for... We’re looking for people who let curiosity and interest lead them. We don’t expect to have a team of "experts". What we do expect, is for #Team2i to be...
- Inquisitive
- Open to challenge
- Taking initiative
- Accountable
You have experience with various types of software and infrastructure and are passionate about helping to improve the quality of products you work on, through questions, curiosity and exploration. Our projects and clients are diverse, so what we really look for are people driven to develop and expand their skillset and knowledge.
What you’ll be doing... Joining the Quality Engineering leadership team within one of our client delivery portfolios, setting the direction for quality engineering standards, practices and processes across the wider business. You will bring your previous senior leadership experience working within a range of systems quality practices to deliver value to your daily work and support your colleagues on your client team. You will be expected to proactively contribute to and lead client and team delivery ceremonies and practices, such as daily stand-ups, planning, refinement and reviews.
You will take ownership and actively mentor 2i colleagues to grow our collective skills and experience and continuously improve the 2i way of doing things. You will also positively contribute to 2i strategic initiatives to grow the business and improve client delivery.
Develop and implement engineering first approaches within your core discipline, ensuring you have the right quality engineering team in place, embedding QE by default into engineering best practices from the outset. Proactively collaborating with client stakeholders including both engineering and architecture leads to be the voice for quality engineering, ensuring the QE perspective is crafted into key decision making.
Build trust with client stakeholders and be able to clearly and concisely communicate test ideas, systems quality risks and translate evidence in a way that is meaningful and relatable to them. Lead the end-to-end delivery of data engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with client objectives and technical best practices. Oversee cross-functional teams of data engineers, analysts, and solution architects to deliver high-quality data solutions on time and within scope.
Translate business requirements into technical delivery plans, ensuring clear communication between stakeholders and engineering teams. Extensive understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, cloud platforms, and modern data tooling. Manage issues/defects found during testing to support effective prioritisation, investigation and resolution.
Develop an understanding of the role of functional and non-functional testing in delivering quality services and products for your client and internal teams, based on your proven experience with functional and non-functional quality characteristics and considerations, such as performance, resilience, scalability and observability. Mentor, coach and teach more junior team members, providing support to implement strategic approaches, perform test activities and develop their skills.
Develop a culture within your client and internal teams to challenge the status quo and continuously improve quality engineering practices and processes, with appropriate tracking and monitoring of value driven success measures. Engage in healthy debate and challenge facing into conflict and difficult conversations when needed.
Experience Required: Previous leadership experience within quality engineering is essential, managing, directing and leading a technical service delivery team or specifically a team of quality/test engineers. Developed test approaches for quality engineering, CI/CD and release management within complex agile environments. Commercial experience within cloud services, microservices architecture, performance engineering, observability, infrastructure as code and SRE principles. Creating and executing the strategic direction for the design of test automation frameworks, spinning up test infrastructure, optimised test environment usage, and utilising virtualisation and containerisation.
What we can offer you... Career development pathways tailored for your personal and professional learning within 2i, giving clear direction for your career with us. 26 days of annual leave + the option to buy and sell holiday (up to 5 days). Private Health Care + access to other mental health and wellbeing services including Gym Memberships, Counselling, Cycle to Work Schemes + many more. Individual and Company related performance bonus. Flexible working in a hybrid environment across the UK.
What if you are a partial fit? Curious? We want to hear from you! We don’t believe in the "perfect" hire. What we do believe in is the benefits of creating a team built of different perspectives, backgrounds, career paths and ways of working. What we value most are team players who are eager to take their growth into their own hands and utilise the people around them.
