Are you a motivated and organised Paralegal looking to develop your career in Private Client law? Our client is looking to recruit an ambitious and organised Paralegal to support their busy Private Client department in London. This role offers exposure to a wide range of high-quality work, including estate planning, wills, probate, and trusts, with the opportunity to work closely with experienced solicitors advising high-net-worth individuals and families. It’s an ideal position for someone looking to deepen their experience in private client law within a supportive and well-respected team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, trust documents and estate planning materials
- Support solicitors with estate administration
- Conduct legal research and assist in the preparation of advice on tax planning and wealth structuring
- Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, financial institutions, and other third parties
- Help manage key dates and deadlines across client matters, ensuring accurate file maintenance
- Draft client correspondence and engagement letters under supervision
- Assist in organising and maintaining trust and estate accounts and documentation
- Support the team on a range of client files, from straightforward estates to complex high-value matters involving international assets and cross-border considerations
Skills & Experience
- Law degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a paralegal, ideally within private client, wills & probate, or trusts
- Experience with drafting wills, LPAs, and basic trust documents is desirable
- Familiarity with the probate process and inheritance tax reporting
- Strong organisational and document management skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident in liaising directly with clients and third parties
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines under pressure
- A proactive and collaborative attitude with a genuine interest in private client law
