Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance function. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial support and insight to help drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase invoices, sales invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries.
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with account reconciliations.
- Supporting month-end procedures and finance reporting requirements.
- Assisting with VAT returns and other routine finance administration.
- Maintaining financial records and ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with internal departments, suppliers and customers regarding account queries.
- Supporting the finance team with ad hoc administrative and accounting duties.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and financial controls.
Experience and Skills Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator or similar finance role.
- AAT qualification or ongoing studies would be advantageous but not essential.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and finance processes.
- Experience processing invoices, payments and reconciliations.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional, reliable and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
