Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Process invoices, payments and expense claims.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounts preparation.
- Support the Finance Manager with reporting and financial analysis.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory reporting as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve accounting queries.
- Filing PAYE Returns.
- Preparing profit and loss schedules.
- Maintain statutory records and company registers.
- Assist with Companies House filings and compliance deadlines.
- Support general corporate administration and governance processes.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or account’s assistant role.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of payroll processing.
- Understanding of VAT and other compliance requirements.
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification or part-qualified status.
