An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and organised Legal Secretary to join a highly regarded Private Client team based in Dorking. This is a rewarding and varied role supporting fee earners with a broad range of matters, including wills, probate, trusts, and powers of attorney. You’ll be part of a friendly, professional team that values accuracy, empathy, and exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce legal documents, correspondence, and forms accurately from digital dictation or draft.
- Liaise professionally and sensitively with clients, colleagues, and third parties via phone, email, and in person.
- Manage diaries, appointments, and meetings for fee earners.
- Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, filing, and distributing post.
- Open, maintain, and close files in accordance with compliance and confidentiality procedures.
- Organise meeting rooms and refreshments as needed.
- Assist with billing, file management, and general team coordination.
- Ensure client information and firm documentation are handled with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Support the wider Private Client team as required.
About You:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Private Client department (wills, probate, or trusts).
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of written and verbal communication.
- Empathetic and professional when dealing with clients on sensitive matters.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital dictation software.
