Domestic assistants are more than just a cleaner; they are the lifeblood of the NHS and an integral part of the team, keeping hospitals, health centres, offices and other areas clean and hygienic. No previous experience is required and training will be provided in line with the BICS accreditation. We will cover costs for a DBS check if required for the role.

This is a part-time, permanent role, working 20 hours per week (Thursday & Friday 6am - 10am, Saturday & Sunday 6am - 12pm).

Main Duties
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and common areas.
  • Follow infection control protocols to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Dispose of waste safely and according to hospital guidelines.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
The Person

You will be physically fit, able to perform tasks requiring lifting, standing, and moving for extended periods. You should have high standards of cleanliness and hygiene with keen attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills, dependability with excellent punctuality, and flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, are essential. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are also required to follow instructions and complete necessary documentation.
