2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

The Role

Ward Catering Assistants are the lifeblood of the NHS and an integral part of the team, providing high levels of patient service, cleaning, and catering support within clinical areas. Previous customer service or catering experience would be an advantage. You will provide essential support in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital wards and delivering high-quality catering services to patients, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment. This is a part time, permanent position working Saturday & Sunday 7am - 8pm (split shift, 1 hour break 3pm - 4pm).

Main Duties

  • Carry out housekeeping duties, cleaning, catering and patient services
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and needs regarding catering and housekeeping services
  • Comply with the Trust infection and control policies, COSHH, Health and Safety and other statutory legislation
  • Take patients’ meal orders, prepare and distribute meals and beverages to patients according to dietary requirements
  • Clean and sanitise patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to high standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of catering equipment and utensils
  • Assist in managing food stock, including receiving deliveries and maintaining inventory

The Person

The role requires excellent communication skills, motivation and strong customer service skills. The role has a real impact on the patient experience and focuses on providing exemplary services. A proficient level of reading, verbal, and written English is required for this role to ensure effective communication and job performance.
