2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.
The Role
We are looking for a Duty Facilities Manager to join our Facilities team, based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury.
The Duty Facilities Manager plays an important role within the wider facilities service, ensuring the hospital is cleaned, patients are catered for and safe.
As a dedicated and proactive manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating soft facilities services, including Domestic, Catering, Portering, Waste, Linen, Reception, and Security services.
This is a permanent, part time opportunity, working 20 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday 7am β 5:30pm.
You will work closely with our facilities services managers, providing essential support and operational cover as needed.
This role is the main point of contact for customer escalation and issues over the weekend, whilst providing a hands on approach when needed.
The facilities service manager also has input on daily/monthly reports and ensuring smooth handovers from and to the Head of Facilities and Service Managers enabling a streamlined, high quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Have visible onsite leadership of soft facilities services, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and national guidelines.
- Lead and motivate a large team of staff, including team leaders, to provide high-quality services to EKHUFT and our customers.
This includes line management of weekend staff, undertaking appraisals, return to work, and other people management activities.
- Maintain a customer-driven approach, providing excellent customer care and satisfaction.
- Undertake regular audits to ensure the site meets KPIs and deliverables over the weekend period, including site walks.
- Collaborate with senior managers, directors, clinicians, and other staff utilising effective communication and coordination.
- The Person
Proven experience in a managerial role (of a large team of staff) preferably within a facilities management or healthcare setting) with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.
Ideally, understanding of soft facilities services, including Domestic, Catering, Portering, Waste, Linen, Reception, and Security.
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at different levels.
