2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.
We have an excellent new opportunity for a Buyer (Medical and Surgical) to join our growing Procurement Department at the William Harvey Hospital. This is a full time (Monday - Friday), permanent position. Buyers are responsible for raising orders and contracts for goods and services for their customers. They will support a category of spend (Medical and Surgical) on behalf of 2gether Support Solutions to East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust through the procurement role.
This role will have you come in as part of a close-knit team working collaboratively with other colleagues within the Procurement department and other various stakeholders across the business.
Main Duties
- Be responsible for all transactional procurement processes by providing quotations, tender and contracting management services and also manage routine operational and administrative tasks provided by the Purchasing Assistants.
- Working closely with other colleagues within the Procurement department helping to ensure best practice, value for money, risk minimisation and crucially support the identification of opportunities securing the organisations financial position.
- Support the organising of regular meetings with key stakeholders to improve communication and co-ordination of procurement activities with management information as required.
- To monitor contract compliance across the organisations, analysing data and identifying priority areas for cost savings and process improvements.
- Evaluate quotes, lower value tenders and product switching opportunities, and be able to identify best value options for the Organisation.
What We're Looking For
- Contracting/procurement management/materials management experience with a willingness to work towards specialised contract/project/change management knowledge through training and development opportunities.
- Strong negotiation and project management skills or willing to study towards developing these.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to influence.
- Knowledge of e-procurement systems, preferably within a healthcare environment is desirable.
- Competent use/knowledge of MS Office Suite.
