2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician to deliver comprehensive service in all areas of mechanical and electrical maintenance, compliance, and reactive works. This role requires in‑depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and the ability to implement safety standards and procedures effectively. Knowledge of both areas is favoured; however there is an electrical bias to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, compliance checks, and reactive works on:
    • Boiler and steam systems
    • Hot and cold water systems
    • Low voltage electrical systems
    • Fire alarm and detection systems
    • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
    • Medical gas systems
    • Drainage and waste water systems
  • Work autonomously, making technical decisions based on skill, knowledge, and training.
  • Participate in the operation of the Technical Solutions CAFM system, including identifying jobs, closing down tasks, and updating team leaders on parts shortages.
  • Prioritise patient needs to enhance their experience.
  • Undertake maintenance duties, attend breakdowns, and perform inspections according to maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with team leaders regarding plant or equipment failures.
  • Complete report sheets accurately to comply with legislation.
  • Use all relevant tools and equipment safely.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualification in either mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • City & Guilds or BTEC qualification.
  • In‑depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Strong communication and written skills.
  • Adaptable, with a solution based approach and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work within a demand driven service and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in an Acute Hospital environment is desirable.
  • Awareness of asbestos, legionella, and COSHH.
  • Full valid driving licence, with the ability to travel and work at various sites.
