An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a well-established business based in Derby. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional with strong construction industry knowledge who will support the day-to-day management of the finance function, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the purchase and sales ledger functions
- Managing subcontractor payments and verifying CIS compliance
- Complete bank reconciliations
- Prepare and submit VAT returns & CIS returns
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and construction industry regulations
- Support with cashflow forecasting and management accounts
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Training and mentoring finance staff
- Provide wider support to the finance team and contribute to ad hoc finance tasks as required
Requirements:
- Experience working as an accounts manager or in a similar senior finance role
- Previous experience managing a finance team
- Previous experience working within the construction industry (highly desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes and HMRC compliance
- Good Excel skills
- A hardworking individual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
