Overview
We are working with a well‑established and growing specialist manufacturing business in Birmingham to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant. You will oversee the company's day‑to‑day financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing Monthly Management Financial Reports including forecasts.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Cash management including bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including follow up and resolution.
- Identifying, developing, and implementing process and system improvements for maximum efficiency and compliance.
- Manage stock take and reconciliation of book stock to physical stock count results.
- Month end process and closing.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Supporting external audits.
Essential
- Full professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CCAB, CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
- At least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
- In‑depth knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP) with experience in financial modelling, automation, scenario analysis, and KPI dashboard reporting.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient with accounting software.
- Proactive self‑starter with experience managing a small finance team.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time‑management abilities.
- Effective communicator with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Desirable
- Sage 200 experience.
- Experience working in healthcare or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
