About Us
2Excel Aviation Ltd, part of the 2Excel Group, is an innovative aerospace and aviation services company operating across defence, security, critical national infrastructure, charter, engineering and disaster response. We save lives, clean seas, save trees and support nationally-important services. With specialist teams and unrivalled aerospace approvals, we design, build, test and operate aircraft to deliver mission-critical services and data-driven insights. Our success is built on the talent and experience of our exceptional people.
About The Role
One of our important contracts is providing a Boeing 727 aircraft on standby to respond to oil spills anywhere in the world. This aircraft is currently hangered in Southend and looked after by our Southend based B1 Licensed Engineer, who is supported by other colleagues from across the organisation. To increase efficiency, we’d like to hire support more local to Southend to help keep our aircraft ready to fly. This might be helping with things like daily and weekly checks and other ad-hoc tasks. The amount of time needed each week is likely to be fairly regular, but the days and times may fluctuate dependent on what’s going on.
About You
We think this may suit someone who’s retired and wants to earn a little bit of extra cash without committing to full time work. However, we’re open to applications from anybody who might be interested and fits the criteria. Being local to Southend, within easy reach of the airport and the means to get there independently is essential. You don’t need to be type rated, but you do need to hold an A or B license and have experience of working with aircraft. If you have an old 727 type rating or experience of the aircraft, perhaps you worked at ATC Lasham in Southend, this is likely to be a big advantage. We will provide you with all mandatory and familiarisation training required before we give you a Company authorisation to support the tasks.
What We Offer
- Flexibility with some regular hours offered
- A competitive hourly rate – we’re happy to consider self-employed contractor or payroll options, dependent on what suits you best.
- A supportive team environment that values your expertise.
2Excel is committed to promoting equitable treatment, encouraging diversity and embracing inclusion in our recruitment processes and workforce. We are proud to be recognised as a Disability Confident Employer.
