About The Role
Working within a Part 21J Design Organisation Approval and MAA DAOS Approval environment, this role focuses on the generation and development of electrical and avionic design and certification data for aircraft modification programmes. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end design of electrical and avionic system installations on CS23 and CS25 aircraft, starting from initial wiring diagrams through to the definition and specification of wiring, components, and equipment. Your work will extend across the full design lifecycle, delivering detailed manufacturing and installation data that meets both regulatory and operational requirements. You will also perform required calculations, analyses and assessments to develop and certify the design, such as Electrical Load Analyses or assessment of equipment suitability for the installed environment. You will also be involved with the development of Classification Checklists, Certification Programmes and Compliance Checklists for design changes.
Essential Qualifications
- Good knowledge of aircraft Electrical and/or Avionic Systems.
- Experience of design and integration of complex projects on aircraft under civil or military airworthiness regulation.
- Proficient in the generation of design data packages for manufacturing of wiring harnesses and installations to aircraft.
- Knowledge of Part 21, CS/FAR 23 and 25.
- Ability to compile Electrical and/or Avionic aspects of the certification programme, compliance checklist, and other certification documentation.
- Experienced at compilation of one or more of Electrical Load Analyses, Equipment Assessments, EWIS and EZAP Analyses, Electromagnetic and Ground Function Test Plans and Reports, System Safety Assessments and Functional Hazard Assessments.
- Strong communication and team working skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience drawing wiring diagrams and harness drawings in AutoCAD.
- Experience working on one or more Beechcraft King Air, Piper PA-31, Boeing 737 or Boeing 757 aircraft.
- Experience of special mission modifications to aircraft.
- Knowledge/experience of working under Military Aviation Authority Design Approved Organization Scheme (DAOS).
- Knowledge of AS9100.
