Position B1.1/C Modification Certifying Engineer – 2Excel Aviation Ltd
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Overview: 2Excel Aviation Ltd, an industry leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviation’s most complex challenges, is seeking a full‑time B1.1/C Modification Certifying Engineer to join our dedicated Capability Development Team in Doncaster. In this permanent role you will supervise non‑licensed personnel while fabricating and modifying components on the company Beech 200 & 300 aircraft and other types, perform major and minor structural repairs, conduct hidden damage inspections, and support mechanical and electrical removals and installations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of non‑licensed personnel
- Fabricate and/or modify structural components on company Beech 200 and 300 aircraft and other company aircraft
- Assist with complex structural repairs on or off aircraft
- Conduct hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures
- Remove or install aircraft components as required
- Support mechanical or electrical removals and installations as needed
- Comply with environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
- Perform and document work completed as per appropriate manuals and regulations
- Ensure work is completed safely and timely, whilst maintaining maintenance facilities and equipment
Qualifications:
- Unrestricted UK CAA B1.1/C License (preferably with Beech 200 and/or Beech 300 type rating or similar)
- Training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or completion of an apprenticeship in the relevant field
- Experience in structural sheet metal repair or modification, or substantiated similar experience
- Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, on an individual level and regarding aircraft status
- Ownership of a basic set of sheet metal hand tools with demonstrated inventory and control
- Recent experience and knowledge of Beech 200 and/or Beech 300 or similar aircraft
- Good IT skills
- Desirable current Human Factors Training and proof of Initial Human Factors Training, EWIS and FTS
- Flexibility to travel to other sites as required
