We are seeking a full-time UK CAA Part 66 Licenced, Category B1.1/B1.2/C Base Maintenance & Modifications Certifying Engineer to join our dedicated Capability Development Team in Doncaster.
About The Role
This is permanent to lead a team of licenced and non-licenced personnel to conduct Base Maintenance activities, including Major & Minor Modifications on company Beech 200 & 300 Series aircraft, Piper PA31 aircraft, along with other aircraft types.
The role’s key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Supervision of licenced and non-licensed personnel during Base Maintenance inputs and Modification Programmes.
  • Certifying of fabricated parts and or modification of structural components on company Beech 200 and 300 Series aircraft, Piper PA31 aircraft and other company aircraft.
  • Assisting with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft.
  • Conducting hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures.
  • Removal or installation of aircraft components as required.
  • Support with mechanical or electrical removals and installations as needed.
  • Perform and document work completed as per the appropriate manuals and regulations stipulate.
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe and timely manner, whilst helping with the upkeep of Maintenance facilities and equipment.
  • Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
About You
You will hold an unrestricted UK CAA Part 66 Category B1.1 Licence ideally with Beech 200 and 300 type ratings or similar, and preferrable also a UK CAA Part 66 Category B1.2 Licence with a Piper PA31 type rating or Group 3 rating and a UK CAA Part 66 Category C endorsement.
Experience of modifications, sheet metal work, structural and composite repairs is highly desirable. You’ll have received training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or have completed an apprenticeship within the relevant field (desirable). You’ll have effective communication skills, in both written and verbal form on an individual level and aircraft status. You will own a basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate inventory and control of tools. You will be flexible and able to travel to work at other sites as required.
We are particularly looking for candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:
  • Recent demonstratable experience and knowledge of Beech 200 and/or Beech 300.
  • Recent demonstratable experience and knowledge of Piper PA31 or Group 3 aircraft.
  • C Certification endorsement. (desirable)
  • Structural sheet metal repair or modification, or substantiated similar experience. (desirable)
  • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Current Safety Training including Human Factors and proof of Initial Human Factors Training, EWIS and FTS. (desirable)
