About the role
Our rapid growth means some of our processes and procedures around Data Protection and Information Management now need an expert touch. This role is a key member of our Business Support Function and is responsible for maturing our processes and ensuring we remain compliant. You’ll be the primary contact for all data protection matters across the Group and our named Data Protection Officer. As such you’ll be responsible for things like Data Protection Impact Assessments, Subject Access Requests, reporting any breaches and increasing knowledge and awareness through training. In addition, you’ll work closely with our IT and Security Managers to influence and support Information Management, and the governance and upkeep of approvals such as ISO 27001.
About You
We are seeking candidates who are excellent communicators, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of the business to ensure data protection compliance Group wide. You’ll be comfortable being hands on as well as advising and policy writing.
You’ll already be working in a Data Protection role, probably as a Data Protection Lead or Manager and therefore have expert knowledge of the UK Data Protection Act. In addition, knowledge of EU GDPR legislation, or the ability to quickly upskill on this, is a must.
Whilst you may not already hold the role of Data Protection Officer in line with Data Protection legislation, you will feel ready to. You’re also ready to take on the challenge of maturing the Data Protection processes and Information Management systems for us.
You’ll be used to carrying out Data Protection Impact Assessments and are able to use these to negotiate and influence processes where required. You’ll also know how to deal with Subject Access Requests and be able to respond to these with ease.
Relevant qualifications aren’t essential, but they are advantageous.
In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK, hold a valid UK Driving Licence due to the travel requirements and be able to obtain a UK Security Clearance (SC) without restrictions.
