We are looking to recruit Airborne Sensor Operators (ASOs) to join our growing team to help us deliver this new and exciting contract. The flying will be varied and challenging, this is not your average A to B aviation job. ASOs based at Newquay will fly on our B200 aircraft, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year on short‑notice call, delivering the fixed wing element of UK SAR. This exciting and rewarding role will allow the right individual to progress within 2Excel.
Responsibilities
- Pre‑flight planning of assigned tasks.
- Operation of all onboard mission equipment (Turret‑based cameras / Radar / Communications).
- Optimum positioning of the aircraft and sensors to achieve the task.
- Co‑ordination with other agencies over a variety of communications methods both in the air and on the ground.
- Equipment troubleshooting and defect solving.
- Post flight reporting of data collected during the flight.
Skills & Experience
- Working in an aviation environment
- Operating airborne survey equipment
- Military/Police/Coastguard background
- Working in a surveillance environment
- Operation of gimbal‑mounted Electro‑Optical & Infra‑Red sensor packages
- Operation of Communications equipment
- Operation of ground‑based and/or airborne Radar
In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK, have the ability to obtain UK Security Clearance and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
