The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

In this role you will be responsible for the support of live productions for TNT Sports and Discovery/Eurosport. You support a number of sport productions such as football, cricket, rugby and cycling. The role is part of the Broadcast engineering team providing engineering tier 2 support for studios, production and post‑production with a keen focus on delivering for our operational and production partners.

As part of the wider engineering group, you will work closely with the Tier 1 teams in Chiswick and Paris, as well as with the Tier 2 and Tier 3 (COE) teams to resolve issues and continuously improve the broadcast platforms, and be involved in wider projects with leading industry experts. The role is based in Chiswick Park, London and works on a shift‑based pattern including weekends and occasional nights. Some work on other sites, particularly Stockley Park, will be required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure delivery of all engineering requirements, alongside other engineering teams.
  • Work with our production markets in Stockley Park and the Nordic regions to support their systems remotely and in our apparatus room.
  • Work with Production, to ensure the smooth running of live events.
  • Implement ticketing through to resolution, carry out repairs and maintenance.
  • Work on team projects as required, assist the Projects team with large scale work.
  • Ensure that shared technical documentation is updated, and that good communication is practiced.
  • Assist Management and the Lead Broadcast Engineers as required.
  • Respond to all stakeholders in a positive, friendly and proactive manner.
  • Follow a health & safety culture, with relevant maintenance, and safe operating practices.
Qualification requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the production engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of the broadcast chain.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting skills.
  • The ability to fault find from first principles.
  • Stays calm, but excels in high pressure and time critical broadcast production environments.
  • Extensive Broadcast technical background (IP video 2110, AES 67, NMOS, UHD & HD video, HDR & SDR video, 5.1 & Dolby Atmos audio, Graphics, VR/AR, replay and codecs…)
  • Good understanding of IT technologies and the associated challenge (network, virtualization, storage, cloud services, security…)
  • Ability to learn and keep up with technical changes, in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent communications and documentation skills.
  • Strong team member with self‑motivation and consistent customer service understanding the needs of the business.
  • An appreciation of project management.
  • Working knowledge of health & safety best practice.

The above requirements are desirable but not essential. Candidates with a strong technical background, drive to learn and aptitude, will be considered.

The role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work.
