About the Job
As a Cargo Charter Broker at 26AVIATION, youâll be operating in one of the most exciting, fast-paced, and commercially rewarding sectors in aviation. Youâll be responsible for building, developing, and managing your own portfolio of customers who require tailored air charter solutions, from moving urgent parts on a âgo-nowâ basis, to coordinating urgent humanitarian flights into crisis zones. No two days are the same, and every charter flight you arrange has a real-world impact.
Success in this role depends on your ability to pick up the phone, build relationships, and close deals. Youâll be expected to make regular proactive sales calls, turn cold prospects into regular customers, and consistently look for new opportunities to grow your reputation in the business. If youâre energised by the grind and fuelled by growth, believe that behind every ânoâ is a step closer to the âyesâ that changes everything, then this is where you belong.
This is a commercial role, but itâs also operational; youâll see each charter through from start to finish, handling everything from sourcing aircraft and negotiating contracts to flight watching and overseeing execution, including during unsociable hours when necessary. Youâll be the key point of contact for your customers and the operators, ensuring every charter runs like clockwork.
Youâll also travel domestically and internationally, visiting customers, attending trade shows, and even flight âreppingâ or âridingâ for your own charter movements, when required. This role is built for those who thrive on energy, pace, and the collaboration that comes from being part of a close-knit, high-performing team.
If youâre ambitious, hungry for success, naturally commercial, and see every call as a chance to win, then we want to hear from you.
What we can offer you:
- Market-leading uncapped commission structure
- Strong basic salary based on experience
- 25 days holiday per year
- Full Third Space membership
- Exciting location in the newly launched Wimbledon Quarter
- Exciting working environment both professionally and socially
- Unique career progression opportunities
- Private Healthcare
- Enrolment into the companyâs Pension Scheme
- Flexible working options
- International travel
- Weekly social activities
What youâll be responsible for:
- Proactively build your own sustainable portfolio of cargo charter customers by making regular outbound sales calls in line with the companyâs commercial targets.
- Conduct regular sales calls with existing customers to promote 26AVIATIONâs services and strengthen ongoing relationships.
- Manage and maintain your personal customer and contact list, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
- Independently research and identify new charter business opportunities using LinkedIn, industry publications, websites, referrals, and other channels.
- Handle inbound charter enquiries from start to finish including aircraft sourcing, quoting, customer negotiations, closing deals, and executing contracts.
- Oversee the full operational and commercial process of each charter booking from confirmation through to flight completion, ensuring smooth communication between the customer and operator, including during unsociable hours when required.
- Proactively arrange video and/or face-to-face meetings with prospective customers to promote the companyâs services.
- Travel within the UK and internationally to oversee flights, visit customers, and attend trade events or exhibitions as needed.
- Add new charter airlines to the companyâs operator database and ensure that all existing supplier information is regularly reviewed and updated.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with charter operators, while also sourcing and onboarding new operator partners.
- Participate in the companyâs duty roster, handling urgent out-of-hours calls and responding to time-sensitive enquiries and bookings.
- Use your initiative to stay informed about the air charter industry, including monitoring competitor activity, market trends, and regulatory updates to identify potential opportunities.
- Adhere to all aviation regulatory standards and internal compliance procedures relevant to the charter industry.
- Keep up to date with major global developments such as natural disasters, geopolitical shifts, and aviation industry news, in case charter services are urgently required in response.
What we need from you:
- Sales-based experience in the air charter sector or a similarly dynamic and relationship-led sector is highly desirable.
- A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and consistently delivering results in a commercial environment.
- Confidence in handling objections and communicating directly with senior decision-makers.
- Resilience and tenacity: youâre energised by the âyesâ and undeterred by the ânoâ.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to think strategically and solve problems under pressure.
- Skilled at using LinkedIn to map out organisations and decision-makers within the charter space, creating a targeted plan to convert them into customers.
- Willingness and flexibility to work unsociable hours, weekends, and outside the 9â5 when required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail, particularly when preparing quotes, negotiating deals, and executing contracts.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively and handle multiple priorities.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a sound understanding of commercial risk.
- A fast learner with the drive to develop an in-depth understanding of cargo aircraft, industry terminology, and global air charter operations.
- A collaborative team player who actively contributes to a positive and performance-driven culture.
- A calm, professional presence even in high-pressure or fast-moving situations.
- The ambition and confidence to grow a wide-reaching network across the global cargo charter sector.
It would be great if you also have:
- Fluency in a second language (spoken or written).
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms.
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Windows 11 and cloud-based IT tools.
- General IT competence, including file sharing, syncing, and cloud-based platforms.
