We are seeking a detail‑focused and knowledgeable Vehicle Examiner to join our engineering team at the Oldham depot, located at Wallshaw Street, Oldham OL1 3TR.
Salary and Hours
Annual salary: £42,980. Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough safety inspections and statutory vehicle examinations in line with DVSA standards.
- Identify, document, and report defects, ensuring timely resolution.
- Ensure all maintenance and inspection records are completed accurately and meet compliance requirements.
- Support MOT preparation and audit readiness across the depot.
- Liaise with technicians and workshop leadership to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standard.
- Monitor fleet compliance and support continuous improvement in safety and reliability.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the depot, leading by example.
Qualifications
- Qualified technician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV, HGV, or automotive engineering.
- Proven experience in vehicle inspection, maintenance, or compliance roles (PSV/HGV preferred).
- Strong knowledge of DVSA standards and vehicle safety regulations.
- High attention to detail with a proactive, safety‑first mindset.
- Confidence in record‑keeping and compliance documentation.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
