We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Technician/Mechanic to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Oldham. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment including laptop.
- Complete the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit changes and engine repairs and overhauls.
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs.
- Support apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience.
- Work safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Hands‑on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles.
- Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level.
- A safety‑first attitude and strong attention to detail.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable).
