About the Role:

The Cash Office Administrator is responsible for the secure and accurate handling, counting, and reconciliation of cash received in-store, ensuring compliance with internal procedures. The role also involves coordinating with the external cash collection vendor and maintaining clear communication regarding pick-up schedules and any service issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately count and record daily cash takings from designated cash bags received from co-workers.
  • Reconcile the cash received against internal records and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and package counted cash in accordance with company protocols for collection.
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Cash Collection Vendor regarding scheduled pick-ups, changes in collection times/days, or any service-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cash handling activities, reconciliations, and vendor interactions.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all cash and financial documentation.
  • Report any irregularities, losses, or concerns to the appropriate manager promptly.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to cash handling and financial reporting.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks related to the cash office function as required.
  • Ad hoc tasks / queries as required

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a cash handling or finance-related role preferred.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong numeracy and reconciliation skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficient with basic computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, email, cash management systems).
  • Manual handling training
