We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for UK-based accounting professionals experienced in ASC 606 revenue recognition, technical accounting, audit, accounting advisory, contract analysis, and financial reporting.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on complex revenue arrangements, accounting policy evaluation, customer contract review, technical memorandum development, and high-quality accounting assessment workflows.
Selected professionals will apply their practical accounting expertise to analyze revenue scenarios, identify performance obligations, evaluate transaction pricing, determine recognition timing, and explain technical conclusions clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition Analysis
- Analyze complex accounting scenarios involving customer contracts and revenue arrangements
- Apply ASC 606 guidance to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
- Identify distinct performance obligations and assess how contractual promises should be accounted for
- Evaluate whether revenue recognition conclusions are supported by contract terms and applicable accounting guidance
- Contract & Transaction Price Review
- Review customer agreements, amendments, pricing terms, incentives, and related contractual documentation
- Assess variable consideration, constraints, discounts, rebates, and transaction price allocation
- Evaluate principal-versus-agent considerations and other complex revenue presentation issues
- Determine appropriate revenue timing based on satisfaction of performance obligations
- Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Review revenue policies, financial statements, accounting analyses, and supporting documentation
- Develop and evaluate technical accounting scenarios, reference conclusions, and explanatory materials
- Prepare clear accounting memos outlining relevant guidance, analysis, judgments, and conclusions
- Identify inconsistencies, unsupported assumptions, and potential financial reporting risks
