Hours: 4 On-4 Off: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: Day shifts: £13.80 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently to move waste and recycling materials around site.
- Load hoppers, bays, and processing equipment to maintain smooth site operations.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on mobile plant equipment.
- Ensure safe loading and unloading of materials in line with site procedures.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report defects, breakdowns, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist the wider operations team in meeting production and recycling targets.
- Ensure all waste deliveries comply with site licence regulations and associated paperwork requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a loading shovel is essential.
- Must hold a valid Loading Shovel Operator qualification/card.
- Experience within the waste, recycling, quarry, aggregates, or similar industry is advantageous.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
