A leading UK port and logistics business is looking to recruit a full-time Port Operations Technician to join their Shipping Inspection Services team based in Purfleet, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company with strong long-term career prospects, operating across multiple ports and logistics centres throughout the UK.
Location: Purfleet, Essex
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, working either day or night shifts as required. Regular weekend work will also be required at times, with additional payments applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Following operational procedures to ensure product quality and quantity standards are met.
- Taking oil samples from cargo vessels, storage tanks and road tankers to ensure products meet quality and safety specifications.
- Recording operational details using computer-based reporting systems.
- Communicating with internal departments, shipping agents, cargo vessels and terminal operators to ensure smooth and timely cargo operations.
- Carrying out light manual handling duties where required.
