About the Role
Successful candidates will provide safe, supportive, and nurturing care for children and young people aged 8 to 21. Working as part of a skilled and caring team, you will help young people build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes through guidance, structure, and role modelling. This is a full-time, permanent, Waking Night position, across residential homes in the Falkirk area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in line with each young person's care plan.
- Act as a Key Worker, offering consistent support, advocacy, and guidance.
- Safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with relevant legislation and local authority policies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive daily routines.
- Support participation in education, recreation, and community activities.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with young people, colleagues, and families.
- Contribute to care reviews, meetings, and accurate record keeping.
- Promote structure, stability, and emotional wellbeing within the home.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies to provide coordinated support.
- Participate in training, supervision, and reflective practice to enhance professional development.
Essential Requirements
- HNC in social care and SVQ Level 3 in Care (Children and Young People).
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in Residential Childcare or a similar social care setting.
- Sound knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a Residential Childcare Worker.
- Understanding of the SSSC Employee Code of Conduct.
Desirable
- Educated to SQA standard (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to undertake all required training.
