We are currently recruiting two experienced Locum Children & Families Social Workers to join supportive and well-established teams in Duns and Hawick. These are excellent opportunities for practitioners seeking stability, manageable caseloads, and a positive multi-agency working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments of need and risk
  • Develop and review outcome-focused care and protection plans
  • Carry out child protection work, including Section 47 enquiries and core groups
  • Work directly with children, young people, and families
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely case records
  • Participate in team meetings, multi-agency discussions, and supervision

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA Social Work or equivalent)
  • SSSC registration
  • Experience within Children & Families statutory services
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage your caseload effectively
  • Enhanced PVG (or willingness to undertake one)
