21HSC are recruiting on behalf of Unity for an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead the Carers Gateway North Ayrshire service. Unity is a highly regarded charity supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the West of Scotland. The Carers Gateway North Ayrshire service works to identify and support unpaid carers across the region, ensuring they can access the right information, advice, practical support and opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing.

The Service Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Carers Gateway North Ayrshire team, acting as a visible, values-led figurehead for the service. Working closely with North Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership, the postholder will drive continuous improvement, strengthen partnership working and ensure the service delivers high-quality outcomes for unpaid carers.

The successful candidate will lead a team of 14 FTE staff, oversee service delivery across North Ayrshire, manage the annual budget and ensure the service meets contractual, legislative and performance requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire and develop the 14 FTE CGNA team.
  • Line manage the Service Coordinator and Specialist Officers.
  • Oversee day-to-day service delivery across North Ayrshire, ensuring equitable access for carers.
  • Ensure contractual, legislative and KPI requirements are met.
  • Manage the annual service budget and financial performance.
  • Lead quality assurance, outcome monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with health, social care, local authorities and community organisations.
  • Represent CGNA at strategic boards and forums, championing carers' views.
  • Lead strategic planning, business development and operational delivery.
  • Ensure a person-centred approach and effective support planning across the service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of carers' legislation, policy and local/national strategy.
  • Ensure health and safety, organisational policies and SSSC standards are upheld.

Essential/Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Relevant degree/SCQF Level 8+ qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering services.
  • Strong knowledge of unpaid carers and relevant legislation and strategy.
  • Experience of strategic planning, service development and partnership working.
  • Strong analytical, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience measuring outcomes and driving service improvement.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Compassionate, empathetic and values-led approach.
