About the Role:
21 Health and Social Care are looking to recruit an experienced team leader to join our client - a Residential Childcare Service in Falkirk. The Team Leader role is to support the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the home and to display confidence and initiative in their absence. This includes shared responsibility for a team of staff and work allocations, as well as undertaking direct work with children in the residential home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare and development of young people, ensuring their individual needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist with the admissions and transition processes for young people, ensuring sensitive, planned and policy-compliant moves in and out of the home.
- Oversee and monitor young people's care plans and records through robust auditing and quality assurance.
- Lead and manage staff, including supervision, appraisals, mentoring and supporting personal development.
- Support rota planning and ensure adequate staffing levels with appropriate skills, qualifications, and experience.
- Provide guidance on recording/reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Ensure staff are fully trained in line with induction, ongoing development, and the home's annual training plan.
- Promote compliance with Health & Safety regulations related to the home's maintenance and environment.
- Perform flexible duties including on-call responsibilities and other tasks as needed to support the home and its young people.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Fully qualified in residential childcare holding HNC & SVQ 3 (Children & young people) and SVQ 4 or working towards this qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years experience of working within residential childcare or similar role.
- An understanding of up-to-date legislation around children's residential care and safeguarding vulnerable young people and adults.
- Driving license.
