Main Purpose of the Role

As a Care Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of our residents. You will work collaboratively with individuals to support their independence, dignity, and participation in community life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, person-centred care to residents, promoting choice, independence, and dignity in all interactions
  • Support residents with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Encourage participation in Garvald's cultural life and creative workshops (such as craft, bakery, weavery, estate work, and gardening)
  • Assist with community-based activities such as swimming, horse-riding, and climbing
  • Administer medication and support medical appointments when needed
  • Assist with care planning and contribute to reviews and goal-setting
  • Maintain accurate records, including those relating to residents' finances
  • Work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with residents, families, and professionals
  • Adhere to Garvald policies, Care Inspectorate guidelines, and SSSC Codes of Practice
  • Commit to ongoing personal development, training, and supervision

Qualifications

  • Commitment to achieving SVQ Level 2 and 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (if not already held)

Experience

  • No previous care experience required - full training will be provided
