Role Purpose:

In this role, you'll be at the heart of safeguarding and supporting young people within a residential/secure setting. Your work will follow legislative and organisational standards while contributing to a culture of trust, learning, and opportunity. In addition, you may take on specific responsibilities that help the service run smoothly and effectively.

  • Promote the wellbeing, safety, and protection of young people.
  • Contribute to the assessment of needs and risks, developing and implementing care plans.
  • Support young people in building life skills, independence, and positive relationships.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a calm and constructive manner.
  • Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are met at all times.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a Residential Child Care Worker.
  • Understanding of Employer and Employee Code of Conduct (SSSC).
  • Experience working in social care (preferably in residential childcare or secure care).
  • Possess a HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3 in Care (Children and Young People).
  • Ability to manage time effectively and organise workload.
  • Mental resilience and patience to handle challenging situations.

Desirable:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience in residential or secure childcare.
  • Proven experience in working with children and young people.
