We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a secure residential care service for children and young people. This role carries full operational oversight while on shift, so experience in residential or secure care is essential. You will ensure a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed environment, supporting both young people and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership and oversee daily service operations
- Take full operational responsibility during shifts, including incident response
- Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and safeguarding requirements
- Supervise and support staff, promoting reflective practice and development
- Manage rotas and resources to maintain continuity of care
- Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with partners and agencies
About You
- Mandatory managerial experience in residential or secure care
- Proven leadership experience with operational responsibility
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding
- Calm, resilient, and confident in decision-making
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
Requirements
- SVQ 3 Social Services - Children and Young People (or equivalent) is essential.
- Willingness to work towards further qualifications (SCQF Level 9 / SVQ4)
- Full UK driving licence
