Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? 21HSC are recruiting on behalf of Care Support Scotland who support people with a diverse range of care needs to live fulfilling, independent lives within their communities. The people they support include individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, and mobility issues. They provide different levels of care tailored to everyone's needs, goals, and aspirations.

As a Support Worker for older adults within their supported living service, you will be delivering care in a highly person-centred way, ensuring everyone's support is tailored to their personal needs, goals, and aspirations. Support will include 24-hour care within supported accommodation in St Leonards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs, goals, and aspirations.
  • Support individuals with daily living, personal care, emotional wellbeing, and social inclusion.
  • Contribute to support plans, including reviews, goal setting, and risk assessments.
  • Enable access to health, social, and community-based activities to promote independence.
  • Support individuals to develop life skills and maintain their home environment.
  • Administer or prompt medication in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and professional records using electronic and written systems.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals.
  • Ensure all support is delivered in line with safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational policies.
  • Promote dignity, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Passion for supporting people to live independently and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and respond positively to challenges.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Basic IT skills, including use of electronic recording systems.
  • Ability to maintain clear and accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience within an adult social care setting.
  • Understanding of supporting older people and promoting independent living.
  • Knowledge of Care Inspectorate, SSSC standards, and person-centred approaches to care.
  • Experience of writing reports, support notes, or care plans.
  • Positive Behaviour Support or Trauma-Informed Practice experience or qualifications.
