About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Supervisor to join a Sheltered Housing management team within Older People and Disability Services. In this key leadership role, you will support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day running of a regulated housing support service. You will lead and support staff, ensure high-quality outcomes for service users, and maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, National Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice. This is a challenging and rewarding post, ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to live independently, leading teams, and driving continuous service improvement in a complex and highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and support Housing Support staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred services
- Ensure services comply with Care Inspectorate requirements, legislation and best practice
- Oversee assessments, support plans and reviews to ensure outcomes-focused support
- Promote safeguarding, health & safety, and the wellbeing of service users and staff
- Monitor performance, contribute to audits, inspections and quality improvement plans
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies and commissioned services
- Manage staffing matters including supervision, training, performance, recruitment and absence management
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required
What we're looking for:
You will be an experienced supervisor or manager with a strong background in housing support, social care or a similar regulated environment. You will be confident leading teams, making decisions in complex situations, and balancing competing priorities.
Essential requirements include:
- SVQ Level 3 Social Care (or equivalent)
- Significant experience managing and supervising staff in a care/support setting
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, National Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff in a demanding environment
- Excellent communication, decision-making and organisational skills
- Registration (or willingness to register) with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- PVG membership for both adults & children (or willingness to obtain)
