Service Type: Residential Short Breaks for Young People with Learning Disabilities
21 HSC are seeking a dedicated Cook for a short term residential service providing short-term care to young people with learning disabilities. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for preparing home-cooked evening meals and occasional baking for 10 young people. Many service users have specific dietary requirements, so attention to detail and awareness of allergies or special diets is essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and serve nutritious, home-cooked meals
- Cater to a range of dietary needs and allergies
- Support meal planning and, if required, shopping (additional hours available)
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Experience cooking for groups (experience in care or education settings is a plus)
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management
- Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, flexible, and ideally available for the full 8-week term
- Compassionate and understanding of the needs of young people with disabilities
