We are recruiting an experienced Locum Senior Social Worker / Team Manager to join an Adult Social Work Team within Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled social work professional to provide leadership, supervision, and operational management within a busy statutory adult services environment, supporting the delivery of person-centred, strengths-based practice through the Home First and Three Conversations models.

  • Provide professional supervision, leadership, and support to a team of social work staff.
  • Provide advice and guidance on relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and social work practice standards.
  • Ensure high-quality, person-centred assessments and interventions are delivered in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively with health, social care, and community partners to deliver integrated services.
  • Respond to service enquiries, complaints, and concerns regarding service delivery.
  • Authorise financial assistance and support packages within agreed frameworks and delegated authority limits.
  • Monitor, audit, and improve service quality through quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support innovation and creative approaches to achieving positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
  • Identify staff learning and development needs and support professional growth through supervision, annual reviews, and performance management processes.
  • Represent the Partnership at multi-agency meetings, forums, and community engagement events.

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within a statutory adult social work setting.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or managing social work staff.
  • Strong knowledge of Adult Support and Protection, Adults with Incapacity legislation, risk assessment, and risk management.
  • Sound understanding of current social work practice, policy, and legislative frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, report-writing, and decision-making skills.
