We're pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client - one of the fastest growing commercial wholesalers in Europe, in their search for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimise their busy logistics operation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of compliance, fleet performance, driver management and day-to-day transport efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling and delivery performance
- Lead, support and develop drivers and transport staff
- Maintain full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachographs, Working Time Directive and vehicle safety
- Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections and defect reporting
- Monitor KPIs such as delivery performance, cost control and utilisation
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for audits and regulatory checks
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve transport related issues
- Drive continuous improvement across transport processes and standards
Legal & Compliance Requirements
- Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential)
- Strong knowledge of Operator Licence obligations
- Understanding of DVSA regulations, vehicle roadworthiness and driver hours
- Experience managing compliance systems such as tachograph analysis and maintenance schedules
