About the Role

As a Sales Engineer/Executive, you’ll be responsible for generating new business, nurturing client relationships and managing accounts from initial inquiry through to order completion. This is a varied role that blends outbound communication, commercial awareness and strong organisational skills. We’re especially keen to hear from candidates with an engineering, precision components or fasteners background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to potential customers to build rapport and generate interest
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients
  • Secure new inquiries and orders by understanding customer needs and presenting the company’s value
  • Source raw materials, prepare estimates and process orders accurately
  • Manage and grow your own client base, ensuring excellent service and retention
  • Work closely with commercial and production teams to support smooth operations
  • Provide detailed feedback and reporting to management to support business decisions

Skills & Experience

  • Proven background in sales, ideally within a competitive environment
  • Confident in identifying new business opportunities and engaging decision-makers
  • Able to clearly communicate company services and convert conversations into inquiries and orders
  • Experience with costing, quoting and preparing competitive proposals
  • Comfortable sourcing materials and managing order processing
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Able to produce clear reports and feedback for management

Job Requirements

  • Strong independent work ethic with excellent time management
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Good basic maths skills for pricing and order management

Experience Needed

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience
