We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected precision engineering business based in Birmingham, for an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys low-volume, high-accuracy work and wants to take ownership of programming, setting and producing quality components.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for programming and setting CNC lathes using Fusion 360, producing small-batch quantities typically ranging from 1–20 off. The work is varied, technical and ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and precision machining.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and set CNC lathes using Fusion 360 for small-batch production.
- Interpret engineering drawings and create accurate machining programs.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds for a variety of materials.
- Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances.
- Optimise programs to improve efficiency and repeatability.
- Conduct first-off inspections and make adjustments as required.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve machining challenges.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised work environment.
About You:
- Strong CNC turning background with proven programming experience.
- Confident using Fusion 360 for programming.
- Able to work independently on small-batch, one-off and prototype work.
- Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working to tight tolerances and engineering standards.
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday 8am-4pm + overtime
