We are actively looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join our Howden Consumer & Local Commercial team. In this role you will be responsible for building rapport with new and existing clients, ranging from sole traders to the MD/CEO of a large organisation, and working closely with the Branch Manager to achieve objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with new and existing clients across the UK.
  • Drive new business and build long‑lasting relationships with B2B clients.
  • Develop and implement marketing, community engagement, networking and client‑meeting initiatives to increase market presence.
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities and drive the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Act as a consultative advisor, listening actively, asking effective questions and fully understanding client requirements.
  • Advise on products and solutions, constantly identifying opportunities and seeking a "path to yes" when possible.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to meet team objectives and service level targets.

Qualifications

  • Experience winning new business and building enduring relationships with B2B clients.
  • Passion for developing business through marketing, community engagement, networking, client meetings and other relevant activities.
  • Tenacious and business‑curious, able to identify and explore new opportunities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to daily changes and challenges.
  • Consultative mindset with strong questioning and active listening skills.
  • Ability to fully understand client requirements and advise on appropriate products and solutions.
