Our client are an entrepreneurial UK insurer who are looking for an experienced Head of Compliance to join their team. This role would provide someone with very broad exposure to board level activity, the regulator, shareholders of the company.
Key requirements for the role include experience with the following:
- Compliance Oversight (SMF 16): The Head of Compliance will have responsibility for the compliance function in the firm and reporting to the governing body on this.
- Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF 17): The Head of Compliance will have responsibility for overseeing the firm’s compliance with the FCA’s rules on systems and controls against money laundering.
Additionally, as the Head of Compliance for this UK insurer, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the company operates in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role will be varied and also include the following:
- Developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures
- Monitoring regulatory changes
- Conducting risk assessments
- Regulatory reporting
- Building and management of regulatory relationships with authorities
- Internal monitoring and audits
- Promoting a strong compliance culture within the organization
