The Company: The building contractor takes on projects of varied nature, including healthcare, education, listed buildings, local authority, commercial, private residential, sports and leisure, embassy and religious buildings. The building contractor has always been known to have an excellent reputation, focusing on the delivery of construction projects ranging from £2m - £10m, including refurbishment and new build.

The Candidate: We are looking for someone who can prove longevity experience working as a Site Manager across varied sectors, on projects up to £5m value. Ideally, they should have experience in new build working on design and build contracts.

The Project: The contractor operating in Leicester is carrying out the construction of a new build garden centre with a contract value of £1.8m. They are looking for someone with experience in the commercial sector, and ideally new build experience as the No1 on site, managing projects of similar size. This is a steel frame build, with interior fitout following. Contract length - 12 months.

The candidate must require:

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid

Responsibilities:

  • Managing day to day activities on site of the site team and sub-contractors
  • Sub-contract and material procurement
  • Construction plan
  • Health & Safety
  • Progress reports and site meetings
  • Programming - short term (1 week / 2 week look-ahead)
  • Quality control
  • Liaison with the design team, M&E consultants, project architect, structural engineer and building control.
