Join an established main contractor delivering a mix of residential and commercial projects across the South East and East of England. This is a hands‐on Project Quantity Surveyor role offering genuine ownership of live schemes, close collaboration with delivery teams, and exposure across both housing and commercial builds. You'll be office‐based day to day, with regular visits to live projects to stay close to delivery.

The Role

  • Take commercial responsibility for live residential and commercial projects (ÂŁ5m–£15m+)
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts, valuations, and variations
  • Produce cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs for senior management review
  • Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to control cost and risk
  • Support projects from pre‐construction through to final account
  • Office‐based role with regular visits to live sites (typically weekly)

What they’re looking for

  • Experienced Project Quantity Surveyor
  • Background with a main contractor essential
  • Strong experience in residential new build (commercial exposure a bonus)
  • Comfortable managing your own projects and subcontractor packages
  • Commercially sound, organised, and confident working from an office environment
  • Someone practical and delivery‐focused rather than corporate Tier 1

The Company

A growing contractor operating across residential and commercial sectors, delivering new build and mixed‐use schemes through a straightforward, delivery‐led model. The business offers stability, sensible workloads, and real responsibility — ideal for a QS who wants control of their projects rather than just a small piece of a large commercial machine.
