The Project Manager role is for a traditional building contractor with an excellent reputation, offering autonomy to deliver projects from start to finish without excessive red tape and typical tier 1 protocols.
The building contractor undertakes projects of varied nature including Healthcare, Education, Local Authority, Commercial, and Government Buildings. Projects typically range from £2m - £8m, including refurbishment and new build, with an excellent reputation for delivering quality outcomes.
The candidate should have longevity of experience as a Project Manager across varied sectors, ideally within Healthcare, on projects up to £10m in value. The candidate will have ultimate responsibility for Project Delivery covering Design, Operations & Commercial.
The contractor operates in and around Eastbourne, predominantly healthcare projects, including fast-paced live hospital fit-out work. This project is a £7.5m job over 67 weeks, across 5 phases. Experience as a Project Manager within the Healthcare sector, strong attention to detail with design, and management of M&E packages in a high-visibility, live environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Attendance and preparation of pre-tender and tender interviews
- Overall responsibility of all site operations
- Preparation of tender submissions in collaboration with the estimating team
- Production of tender programmes using Microsoft Projects or Asta; understanding of JCT / NEC D&B contracts
- Implementation of company procedures on site
- Implementation of Health and Safety procedures
- Progress reporting and production of board reports
- Coordination of design teams and contractor design packages
- Demonstrated recent work history on similar schemes is desirable
- Contracts Manager with a reputable main contractor
- Good all-round building experience on projects from £1m - £10m
- Time spent with previous employers is important
- Design & Build experience
