A long-established and reputable roofing contractor in Coulsdon is seeking an experienced Roofing Estimator to take ownership of pricing and tendering across a varied portfolio of roofing projects, typically ranging from £10k to £2,000,000.

Working from their Coulsdon office, you\’ll play a central role in preparing tenders, pricing multi‑discipline roofing systems and supporting the delivery team with accurate commercial input. Projects span MOD sites, transport depots, industrial units and commercial refurbishments, with scopes covering metal, tiled and flat roofing systems.

This is a great opportunity for an estimator who enjoys variety, autonomy and hands‑on involvement in shaping winning proposals.

The Role

• Prepare accurate tenders, cost plans and pricing documents for roofing projects up to £1.5m
• Measure works from drawings and specifications, producing detailed take‑offs
• Price multi‑discipline roofing systems (metal sheet, tiled and flat roofs)
• Analyse subcontract and supplier quotations to ensure best value
• Support bid preparation and tender submissions alongside senior management
• Provide commercial insight to delivery teams at pre‑start and throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintain clear estimating records, benchmarks and pricing frameworks
• Build strong relationships with supply chain partners to improve consistency and competitiveness

What they\’re looking for

• Strong experience as a Roofing Estimator or Roofing QS/Estimator within a specialist roofing subcontractor
• Confident pricing metal sheet, tiled and flat roofing systems
• Solid understanding of roofing construction methods, materials and supplier markets
• Ability to produce accurate measurements, take‑offs and tender returns independently
• Commercially minded, organised and proactive with strong communication skills
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment
• Open to experienced estimators (older chaps), but younger candidates also welcome
• Ideally based within easy reach of Coulsdon
