2020 Recruitment is working with a leading international operator in the electrical energy storage industry who are looking to add a UPS Engineer to their team on a permanent basis. Headquartered in Aberdeen, they operate globally across the UK, Europe and Middle East. Roles & Responsibilities You will be expected to work both onshore and offshore, as per company requirements. This role will also include overseeing and mentoring trainee engineers. Duties will include: Offshore: * Conducting Conductance/Internal Resistance/Discharge testing for battery systems. * Performing routine maintenance on UPS systems, including older and obsolete equipment. * Installing and commissioning UPS systems. * Responding to UPS fault calls and breakdowns. * Preparing and compiling reports. * Making recommendations for asset replacements or additional preventative maintenance. Onshore: * Commissioning and maintaining industrial battery and UPS systems. * Installing and commissioning UPS systems. * Responding to UPS fault calls and breakdowns. * Preparing and compiling reports. * Recommending asset replacements or additional preventative maintenance. * This role will require significant travel, including overnight stays. Work Schedule You will be required to work 194 days throughout the year. Salary is paid on a four-weekly basis, based on a total of 1920 hours worked, either onshore or offshore. You may be required to work on any day of the week and must be available to respond to work duties at short notice. Offshore trips will vary in length, depending on job and client requirements. QHSE Responsibilities All employees are expected to: * Prioritise your own health and safety, as well as that of others. * Cooperate with the company to ensure the successful completion of the role responsibilities. * Complete tasks safely and comply with company Quality, Safety, and Environmental management systems and procedures. * Use the correct tools and equipment for the work, and ensure they are safe and undamaged. Properly store tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment after use. * Wear and maintain all provided safety equipment and personal protective clothing. * Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards, ensuring the relevant paperwork is completed. Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate should have: * A qualification of at least HNC level or equivalent, or be a qualified electrician. * Offshore experience, UPS product training, and familiarity with the BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations would be advantageous, although training on products and testing equipment will be provided. Salary & Benefits * A competitive salary will be based on a set number of hours worked per annum (1920) * 25 holidays plus 9 public holidays per year (34 days total) * Overtime is payable in addition on a day rate basis * Additional payments is made per trip to compensate engineers for travel or accommodation * Uplifts are available for work in certain areas
